How Green is New Haven?
Together, we will make a difference.

Mayor John DeStefano, Jr.
In New Haven, we try to lead by example. We are the first municipality in the state to commit to the goal of 20% renewable electricity for municipal operations by the year 2010. We are host to Connecticut's first and largest commercial wind turbine, and to 19 LEED certified buidlings. I am proud to say that many of our green achievements are driven by our residents, who are increasingly embracing a sustainable way of life.
