We grow a wide variety of vegetables throughout the season which for us runs from July until November. Every month brings new things, but there are many varieties we plant in succession so we can enjoy them all season. Weekly shares will vary in size and variety reflecting local growing seasons and conditions.

Knowing where your food comes from is a very important concern in today's society for so many reasons, and yet farms and farmland are being developed at an alarming rate in the state of Connecticut. Having CSA member shares is another way we can maintain our commitment to the future of local farming and the quality of the food we eat. Members share some of the risk involved in being a grower by paying in advance the cost of the season's share, but they also share in its benefits.

Eating seasonally is something we no longer understand very well as we go to the grocery store to buy the ingredients for a meal regardless of the season. Having a CSA membership enables you and your family to understand what is in season locally and plan your meals accordingly.

We believe in a sustainable way of life, and our extended family works in our fields, planting and harvesting. We are not an organic farm but we use IPM, (integrated pest management) which means we only spray when necessary and try to use sprays approved for use on organic farms. Robert Treat Farm is a member of the Connecticut Farm Bureau and a member of the Connecticut Department of Agriculture's "Connecticut Grown, The Local Flavor" campaign. Our season is 20 weeks and costs $700 which is payable when you sign up. Pick-up day will be Friday between 2pm - 6pm at the farm, starting July 6th until November 12th.

The Robert Treat Farm is an authentic, working family farm market and garden center located adjacent to the historic beach community of Woodmont-on-the-Sound in Milford, Connecticut. We farm approximately 30 acres of rich Connecticut soil just three blocks from Long Island Sound, and there is almost always a fresh sea breeze wafting over us. We are famous for our juicy, sweet corn and tasty tomatoes, but we have so much more to offer when it comes to nutritious produce. We believe in the sustainability of the land and care for it in ways that will ensure not only healthy crops, but a healthy lifestyle for our family and that of our community. Our Garden Center bursts into life when we open for the season in April, and we have everything you could want for your yard and garden along with friendly, knowledgeable staff to help with questions large or small.
