Description
The Sequim Open Aire Market welcomes August this Saturday, August 1 from 9:00 to 3:00 on Cedar Street in downtown Sequim. Summertime means lots of great produce, and Open Aire Market vendors provide incredible quantities of it every week. Beautiful summer squash, onions, beets, greens of all kinds, cukes, berries, cut flowers and more are available at farm booths located throughout the Market.
For the first time this season the Open Aire Market is pleased to welcome the Port Angeles High School String Quartet, playing from 11:00 to 2:00 in the Market Square. Please drop by and listen to these talented youth musicians, some of whom have played Carnegie Hall in New York City!
Involving young people in the Market is vital to our mission as a community organization, and our youth vendors have provided a great fresh face this season. Emma’s All-Natural Dog Biscuits has become an Open Aire Market mainstay – look for the light grey tent when you’re walking your four-legged friend. Olivia’s Designs (co-located with The Shepherd’s Fold) and Designs by Azreal (co-located with Out on a Whim) both offer hand-made jewelry, while Minty Little (co-located with Pacific Northwest Naturals) is an artist whose media ranges from plants and shells to fine art prints and cards.
This season Market patrons can finally purchase all they need for complete meals – cheese and eggs, fish and shellfish, baked goods and locally-processed jams and syrups, plus of course produce and flowers – with one visit. Add some great music and more than four dozen additional vendors who provide high-quality hand-made items and products and you’ve got the unique, one-of-a-kind experience that is the Sequim Open Aire Market.
