The REAP Olean Farmers Market is beginning it's 21st year of operation and is the Original Farmer's Market in the city of Olean. It is sponsored by REAP, an organization of small farmers interested in sharing ideas, giving support to each other, and providing markets in 3 Cattaraugus County communities.
There are over 15 vendors present throughout the season. There are several growers who are certified Naturally Grown as well as conventional growers. This gives the consumer a choice, and a chance to discuss growing methods with the farmers present.
In addition to seasonal produce, there is an extensive baked goods display by an Amish family, also some craft items by the Amish. Bison meat, maple and honey products, ceramics, soy candles and specialty breads and cookies by gourmet bakers, hanging baskets and gardent plants are also offered.
When and Where: May-October, JCC Parking Lot, 260 North Union Street, Olean, NY 14760, Saturdays 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
