Description

The Canon City Farmers' Market is a grow your own market. Only products that are made or grown by the vendor will be allowed. The market is 13 years old and has a history of being a valued community event. The market runs from June to the first week of October and is moving to Saturdays in 2010. The hours are 8 AM to 1 PM.

The market is going to be located on the shaded street in front of our Historic Library and Arts Center, providing opportunities for the community to interact with these valuable resources. Fremont County prides itself with a history of growing produce. Historically, this area grew vegetables to supply to the minors in near by Cripple Creek. Apple and cherry orchards also were abundant in the Canon City area. We are proud of our history with growing our own local food and we are proud to have 2 local organic farms still in existance. The Canon City Farmers' Market includes Pueblo growers in the market and several local backyard berry and fruit growers.

When: June-October, Saturdays, 8 AM to 1 PM

Where: 6th and Macon Avenue, in front of the Arts Center, Historic Downtown Canon City
