Description
Local families...local farmers...local foods. Our covered farmers market in downtown Battle Creek features locally grown and value added foods...seasonal vegetables, fruits, poultry, pork, beef, lamb, honey, field grown flowers, and baked goods. The market is organized and operated by the Battle Creek Farmers Market Association, established in 1980. Previous groups have operated a market in the downtown area since 1895. www.battlecreekfarmersmarket.com
During 2009 market season the market has averaged 12-15 vendors on any given day, offering with a wide variety of fresh Michigan grown vegetables and fruits, meats, eggs, field grown flowers, baked goods and local crafts. Community based groups and service clubs, such as the Charitable Union and AmBucs, are encouraged to participate in the market to promote their organizations and conduct occasional fund raising activities.
