Description

Starting June 11th Wiswall Park will once again become home to the Ballston Spa Farmers Market. As Farmers Markets across the country and in the capital region continue to grow and become a very reliable source for customers to find high quality affordable food for their families, the Ballston Spa Farmers Market has also grown to meet the demands of the local community. The Ballston Spa Farmers Market has expanded to now have a total of thirty vendors participating. As always, some vendors will only come on Thursdays from 3pm - 6pm and others will only come on Saturdays from 9am - noon but the majority of vendors will continue to be at both markets.

The local community is in for a treat this year with two new bakers, BB Sweets and Dutch Desserts, joining Saratoga Cookie and Smith s Orchard and Bake Shop with delicious homemade baked goods. Another new vendor, Mumumuesli, has a gourmet breakfast cereal loaded with fruits and nuts. Delicious sweet fruits are always in high demand and Eagle s View Farm, Rutkowski Family Farm, Bowman s Orchard, and Charlton Fruit Farm will all be returning. Stutzenstein s Sugar Shack will now sell their maple syrup and honey at all markets. With Ballston Spa being the first NYS Fair Trade Town, Mango Tree Imports will be joining the farmers market this year with Fair Trade chocolates and coffee. Savory foods are just as delicious as sweet ones and the farmers market has just what you need to make any meal special. Worldlings Pleasure is returning with their large selection of gourmet cheese spreads and Zorbas Natural Foods has a fantastic garlic spread. Santa s Attic has a huge selection of spice mixes and herb rubs to make all your dishes taste gourmet. Allmediterranea will be returning with Spanish olive oil and Blue Moon Dressing has a complete line of prepared salad dressings and marinades. They will also be offering a sharpening service to keep your cooking knives working their best as you prepare all the amazing meats and vegetables you will find at the market. Frog Hollow Farm will have a full line of local meats including specialties like goat and rabbit that you can t buy in a supermarket. Stormhaven Farm is a new vendor specializing in pastured poultry. Willow Marsh Farm will be expanding their meat sales this year in addition to selling seasonal vegetables. A popular vendor at a local winter market, Windy Willow Farm, will be joining our market on Thursdays this summer with tons of mesclun and other salad greens. Ballston Greens, Morning View Farms, MacDougall Family Farm, O Never Done Farm, Paper Dragon Farm, Pleasant Valley Farm, and Ropitzky Family Farm will all be returning with a huge selection of the freshest, best tasting locally grown produce available. Of course there is more to a farmers market than just food and we are very excited to have Paul Van Arnum Greenhouses and Bulldog Farms Greenhouses returning with this year with absolutely beautiful plants and flowers. Indoor plants and outdoor plants, hanging baskets and bedding plants, perennials and annuals, Summer plant and Fall Plants! chances are, they have what you are looking for. A favorite for years with many women and girls, is the handmade jewelry of Dazzle Spa Crafts, one of the farmers markets original vendors. It is truly a fun experience to come to the farmers market to shop and enjoy the atmosphere. The shaded park is full of lovely flowers, local musicians are playing in the gazebo and Spring water, for which the area is famous, flows freely. You see old friends and meet new neighbors, kids play while parents shop. Local businesses are open and it all adds up to a very relaxing way to spend a couple hours every week. Come join us.

June-September - Wiswall Park, Front Street, Ballston Spa Thursdays 3-6pm, Saturdays 9-noon.
