Description

Mound Street Community Garden is one of two operated by the Franklin County Board of Commissioners [http://www.franklincountyohio.gov/commissioners/community-gardens/]. Franklin Commons is our home and is located in a diverse neighborhood in which people of kinds and means have the opportunity to interact on a daily basis. Our garden activates a public space that has been underutilized, enriching the neighborhood and the lives of those who come into contact with the garden. Gardening is a social activity that engenders a sharing spirit and a healthy, active lifestyle. Growing food and flowers for ourselves and for others is a joy and a privilege. As our downtown community grows and thrives we hope to serve as an inspiration for residents, workers, and visitors. Urban gardening and farming is a viable option for those who want to grow their own food in the city and offers a great opportunity to learn and share with our neighbors. • from volunteers for the Mound Street Community Garden
