Summary:
Frank Hunter grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia, and majored in Environmental Studies at Prescott College in Arizona. He spent five years apprenticing on organic and biodynamic vegetable farms in the Northeast, as well as a year interning on a draft horse farm. Frank and Kim have been practicng small-scale, sustainable horse-powered vegetable farming since 2002 in Westmoreland, NH, growing produce for a nearly 100 member CSA garden.
Kim Peavey grew up on a family dairy farm in central New York State and studied literature, theology, and environmental issues before returning to her farming roots. Kim's essays and poetry have appeared or are forthcoming in Farrming Magazine, Snowy Egret, The Natural Farmer, the Small Farmer's Journal, NOFA-NH News, Mothering Magazine, Albatross Poetry Journal, Image: Art, Faith, Mystery, and Renewal Magazine. She also writes a monthly column on farming and sustainability for the Monadnock Shopper News, which is available on the farm website at www.hillsidespringsfarm.com.
