Summary: Bob Vila, the Dean of home renovation and repair advice, has hosted a variety of TV shows—This Old House, Bob Vila’s Home Again, Bob Vila, and Restore America with Bob Vila. Before his life in broadcasting, he launched his own residential remodeling and design business. Earlier still, he served as a Peace Corps volunteer, building houses and communities in Panama. He’s written 12 books about home remodeling, buying a dream home, and visiting historic homes across America. Now he’s breaking new ground on the web. In his Building Green web series, he introduces a new generation of eco-minded do-it-yourselfers to the newest green building technologies and products. A native Floridian, he also spends time in Massachusetts and New York. His work with housing and architectural preservation includes Habitat for Humanity and serving as an advisor on the restoration of author Ernest Hemingway’s home and collections at Finca Vigía near Havana, Cuba, Vila’s parents' homeland.
