PG&E and GRID Alternatives Partner to Install Solar Electric System for Low-Income Homeowner
WHAT Clean, affordable energy will be installed when a solar electric system is raised to the roof of a homeowner in Castroville. On Saturday March 10, Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) volunteers will join staff from GRID Alternatives to lend their expertise to help prepare and connect the solar electric system for a deserving family in Arroyo Grande.
Since 2005, PG&E has contributed more than $385,000 to GRID Alternatives’ Solar Affordable Housing Program to support green job training, financial benefits for low-income families and a reduction in carbon emissions for the broader community.

WHY GRID Alternatives is a non-profit solar installer that trains and leads teams of volunteers and job trainees to install solar electric systems for low-income families throughout California. The mission of GRID Alternatives is to empower communities in need by providing renewable energy and energy efficiency services, equipment and training.
Since 2004, GRID has installed over 1,700 solar electric systems and provided hands-on installation experience to over 8,000 community members and solar job trainees statewide.
