Description
Challenge #1, Be a Power Saver, helps residents become more "power-aware" and turn that awareness into energy saving action. Through our fun and interactive Powerware Parties, residents learn about how energy is used in their homes and the best strategies for reducing energy use and utility bills. Challenge takers are encouraged to take advantage of no-cost Potomac Edison home performance audits and implement energy saving actions and projects detailed in our Power Saver Handbook. Households that achieve Power Saver Certification are rewarded with prizes and recognition. Anyone can host a Powerware Party in their home, neighborhood, faith community or business. Green Homes Challenge staff and volunteers come on-site to lead the activities and share valuable resources. Everyone receives an energy saving gift! A Powerware Party open open to the general public is hosted monthly in Winchester Hall in downtown Frederick. See the website for dates and times.
