Description
Right now the Natural Place has 6 doe goats (3 are milking), 30 hens (15 laying), and three small (small to country people) garden plots. In our garden we try to grow mostly heirloom vegetables and we follow most organic gardening practices. We also have 8 dogs (all fixed, all have shots) and 2 horses (who are mostly retired). Please call us for a farm tour. Next Spring we hope to double our producing livestock and move to a larger location.
Our season is almost year round because of our eggs, canned produce, and winter crops. Our dairy will be fully operational Spring 2010, and will be year round, also.
Beginning in early April, our baskets will usually comprise of a local product (like local honey or homemade jam, candy, or pickles), a loaf of whole wheat or white bread, half a gallon of raw whole goats' milk or half a pound of cheese (usually cheddar, mozzarella, or soft, spreadable goat cheese), a half-dozen farm fresh brown eggs, and to fill the rest of the basket at least 3 types of homegrown produce (substituted with home-canned goods only when absolutely necessary) and more when in season!
