Description
Rainshine is owned and operated by Rachel Ashley and Elias Silvernail. We utilize mainly hand labor (our own) to run our new vegetable and flower farm located in South Town Corvallis.
We specialize in seasonal vegetables for our 26 week CSA and 2010 is our first year offering a 12 week flower CSA. We emphasize quality and freshness and do the majority of our harvesting the day it is for sale. Fall 2010 will see the opening of a farm stand located on Crystal Lake Drive in South Town Corvallis, where vegetables, seasonal fruit, and flowers will be for sale.
Rainshine's practices follow NOP standards (though not certified as of 07/2010). Other practices include diversified windbreaks, using Open Pollinated varieties, using compost teas, and applying attentive soil testing/balancing to create biological diversity and ecological integrity in the field.
Vegetables, small fruits and flowers, as much diversity as we can muster Going for 26 weeks this year, maybe longer next year!
