Description
2010/11 SEASON - This is the 2nd year of our Urban Farming Project. Seedling are growing anticipating a September planting. Volunteer work parties will help plant the vining tomatoes and the remainder of the vegetable plants and herbs. November the hydroponic floating nutrient lettuce beds will be added to the garden which will provide arugula, red leafy lettuce and romaine.
2010/11 SEASON - Cooperative memberships are available as well as CSA memberships for monthly produce boxes.
We are a 23 year old not-for profit organization. In 2005, we launched a special initiative in Boynton Beach called "Creating a Healthier Community." We teach inner city pre-schoolers nutrition education that includes hands-on "planting to harvest" activities using the "5 A Day" or "Veggies Matter" materials provided by the Produce for Better Health Foundation.
