Description

Produce: 20 weeks of in-season, local, organic produce that includes veggies, herbs and flower bouquets, and occasionally fruit. Each week June-October, we harvest a bag of produce that you pick up at the farm. In each bag, we aim for 6 to 10 varieties of produce with enough for a family of 4 for a week.

Community: You become an integral part of a small community of growers and eaters. You get to know your farmers by name and face, and know the soil in which your food grows. You know your money supports the production of your food and the well-being of your growers.

Participation: To the extent that you like, you may be involved in the growing process. Every week you pick your own bouquet of flowers, but there are also opportunities to join in our monthly work party or to volunteer weekly to see how the garden grows.

Sample Share: While no two weeks are the same, here is an example of an August week's harvest:

- 2 heads broccoli
- 1 bunch scallions
- 1 bunch golden beets
- 1 bunch carrots (purple or orange)
- 3 lbs zucchini or patty pan squash
- 2 lbs snap beans
- 1 bunch swiss chard
- 1 head romaine lettuce
- 1 bunch basil
- U-pick flowers

New Earth Farm is a small organic farm seeking to cultivate God's kingdom in the Skagit Valley through growing organic produce for local sale, providing advocacy and support for marginalized families, and promoting sustainable, organic agriculture and healthy eating.

This project aims at addressing the need of the produce consumer for local, organically-grown, sustainably harvested produce, the need of the farm worker for dignifying work at a just-wage, and the need of the earth for food cultivation that doesn't depend on chemicals or unsustainable farming practices.

We recognize that the reality of poverty and marginalization is as much spiritual as it is material, and that injustice and inequality are rooted in our society'ts structures even as they manifest in particular individuals' actions.
