Description
The purpose of this CSA is to revitalize local production and to do it sustainably.
We would like to thank all of those that supported us in our first season. Reflecting back on it we are very proud of all that we were able to accomplish and feel fortunate to have met so many wonderful people through this venture. It was an enjoyable experience for us and we had fun overcoming the many challenges. With the growing and business experience we gained this year we are confident that we will be able to provide an even better experience for our members next year.
The farm is located in a beautiful spot along the Merrimac River. Here we are committed to producing in a way that is respectful to the natural systems. Our goal is to become a model of sustainability as well as economic viability.
We are new farmers, but we are passionate about developing our knowledge and skills through experience, reading, workshops, and talking with experienced farmers.
We had 32 members in our CSA our first season and are planning on expanding to at least 50 the next. We sold produce at three different farmer's markets in the area and will be expanding upon the products we offer to local consumers. We connected with many other farms in 2010 and found those connections to be invaluable. We were able to support them by buying their produce to resell at markets and to offer even more variety in our CSA. If you are a producer we would love to hear from you and talk with you about how we could help each other be more successful.
With the support of our community we look forward to continuing to strengthen the local food system. Please call us if you have any questions or would like to set up a time to talk with us and explore our operation.
