Description
Bird's Haven Farms takes great pride in offering our quality locally grown produce through our CSA program. Now in our fourth year we keep expanding to meet the demand for fresh produce grown entirely on our farm. Using sustainable growing practices we insure to deliver only the highest quality products. What sets us apart from other CSA's is our ability to provide produce like tomatoes almost a MONTH earlier than other local produce farms. The use of high tunnels enables us to extend our growing season, giving our subscribers a wider variety of produce during the growing season. Our greenhouse also provides annuals which we include from time to time. We recieved great feedback from those who participated in year's past and would like to expand our shares this year to anyone new or who missed their chance last year. After going through our waiting list we only have a few spaces left. Now is your chance to pledge your support to locally grown, high quality fresh produce. A subscription will be obtained to receive fresh produce on a weekly basis. There are subscriptions that last 11 weeks or 22 weeks. We are different as we offer a SMALL, MEDIUM, and LARGE. A small is a supplement to your weekly groceries or a family of 2, Medium is for a family of 2-4 depending on your produce intake, and Large for a family of 4 or more. We have had people split a Large CSA or even alternate weeks for pick-up. Within those weeks you will receive an allocated amount of produce equal to your subscription amount. Instead of pre-packed baskets we let our participants pick out their produce to gurantee it's fresh. Each week will be filled with a wide variety of fresh produce from lettuce and tomatoes to sweet corn and melons. Quantity of weekly produce you receive will be based on current market rates.
Bird's Haven Farms is located 51/2 miles north of Granville, Ohio in the central hills. We are a family farm and sell only what we grow. We sell hanging baskets and bedding plants from our greenhouse in the spring during the time when strawberries can also be picked. We are using high tunnel technology to extend the season and bring you tomatoes, lettuce, cucumbers, squash and peppers much earlier in the year and also later in the year than our local weather will permit. We also offer sweet corn second to none. Many people also enjoy picking the black raspberries, red raspberries, and black berries we have to offer during the summer months. Then in the fall we have pumpkins, gourds, ornamental corn, straw, and corn shocks for fall decorations. All in all, we feature berries, flowers, produce and country.
