Bee Lovely and Help Save the Bees
The humble bee is an undervalued yet essential part of our survival, but they're under attack and need our help.
Populations of bees are in rapid decline all over the world. Without them our country will be plunged into the kind of economic and social destruction of a level that begs the question 'can we survive without our brilliant and wondrous pollinators?'
We depend on bees to make our world rich: they feed us, heal us and clothe us.
Bees and wild pollinators are responsible for the pollination of one third of our shopping basket. Beyond that, they are a part of an intricate and inter-connected eco-system - if we allow them to disappear, we also threaten our own existence.
In addition to signing our petition to the EPA (http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/673/611/950/) asking them to ban neonicotinoid pesticides, we are encouraging people to support local bee-keepers by buying honey, planting bee-friendly flowers, and not using insecticides for 'cosmetic' gardening.
