Summary

MN350 is a committed group of people working to build the climate movement in Minnesota. We strive to educate and inspire Minnesotans to rise to the challenge of the climate crisis through creative direct actions, grassroots organizing, and community conversations. Our goal is to do our part in reaching the goal of 350 ppm carbon in the atmosphere. We do this by shining a spotlight on organizations, neighborhood efforts and individuals in Minnesota working on solutions to climate change and weaving their stories together to ignite action in every Minnesotan.

Over the past six months, MN350 has grown from a small group of folks organizing Global Days of Action for 350.org to over 2,000 individuals and over 40 organizations committed to working together to address climate change. We meet monthly and are working on campaigns such as the Tar Sands Action. For more information and to join in, please visit MN350.org.

Be the leader, the artist, the educator, the gardener, the entrepreneur, the healer, the organizer, the builder, the voice, and the heart that our communities, our state and our nation need to move to a clean energy future and 350ppm. Now is the time to be bold. Join us!

Description

Our group got its start when people in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area came together to plan and put on 10-10-10 in Minneapolis as part of a global work day started by the national 350 campaign created by author Bill McKibben - a day that was to help invoke climate solutions. With a great turn-out - with over 100 bikers participating in the mass ride and a myriad of speakers and musicians - our organization was born. Since then, we have been able to increase our members to help make our collective voice ever-louder. Since 10-10-10, we have hosted a Moving Planet event (350's follow-up to 10-10-10) at the State Capitol, which brought over 1,000 Minnesotans together to rally for climate solutions at both the local and national level. We have also lent a helping hand to those in Washington protesting the Keystone XL Pipeline by hosting our own protests, and we have been active in the Occupy Movement by joining in the protests against big business's power over our political and economic systems.
