How Green is Norwalk?
Together, we will make a difference.

Living on the shores of Long Island Sound and among some of Connecticut’s most beautiful landscape gives Norwalk a special reason to take our environmental responsibilities seriously. And we do! Since 2008 Norwalk has been a member of the Environmental Protection Agency Community Energy Challenge. The first Electric Vehicle Charging Stations in Connecticut were installed in Norwalk. Our City Hall has received an Energy Star rating thanks to our efforts to conserve resources. The Norwalk Tree Alliance Urban Forest Improvement project gained a U.S. Conference of Mayors Award of Excellence. Even our effort to tackle urban rain run-off to preserve water quality has been recognized as among the nation’s “Best Practices.” Becoming greener is a daily responsibility for all our citizens and I am happy to be a founding member of the GreenTowns information and recognition initiative.
