Do you ever wonder, “How Green is My Town?”

The folks at Grassroots Environmental Education have created an easy way to find out. Their EPA-award winning environmental assessment program helps community members and local governments alike, join in collaborative efforts to address issues of climate change, sustainability and environmental health.

Below are three simple steps you can take to make your town greener:

1.) Use the GreenTowns checklist. How is your city, town, or village doing in its efforts to address these issues? View the complete checklist and share with your friends, local schools and community organizations - everyone can get involved.

2.) Establish a comprehensive sustainability plan. Does your town or city need a simple, but comprehensive environmental policy? Check out the GreenTowns Policy template and get started!
